Hey guys, so up until recently I've never really had too much trouble with my CPU load being too high. I'm not sure if my computer is starting to shit out, or if my projects are just growing in terms of complexity. Either way, now I'm at a point where my CPU load is a hindrance to my production, and usually lags and distorts the signals making it really difficult to get a clean mix.
What are some of the quickest and easiest ways to help lower CPU load (I use Ableton FYI)? I've heard of freezing tracks and obviously resampling, but I tend to not want to resample my sounds because I typically like to tweak them and make adjustments to the VSTs and synths I'm using.
Any help would be great, share your experiences and tips that you've found help to lower your CPU usage. Thanks a bunch!
