I just got a pair of studio monitors (JBL LSR 305) and my mixes still don't translate quiet well.
I've quickly figured out that my room is the biggest problem here. So I want to treat it acoustically. So far I've noticed that my mixes lack the bass/subbass and the monitors are exaggerating the lower frequencies in general.
I have no idea how and where exactly treat my room. I'd be extremely grateful if you guys helped my out.
So here is a rough, made in Microsoft Paint, plan of my room (no hate plz)
And here are the pictures of the room:
pic 1 (taken from the corner of the room where the shelves are)
pic 2 (view of the corner, from which the first picture was taken)
pic 3 (picture taken directly from the opposite of the enterance door, the window, that is)
pic 4 (picture taken from the enterance door)
pic 5 (once again, a picture taken from the window perspective)
pic 6 ( picture of the wall opposite to the monitors/the desk)
I hope you guys can figure anything out from that pile of BS that I've just posted. Sorry for the picture quality. It's pretty late and the light in my room is not so good.
I've taped a blanket (the purple one) to one of the corners (the corner that the back of the monitor is facing) to reduce the unwanted bass frequencies. Don't judge me, I'm poor at the moment.
So... Can anyone help me? I'm just so done with my mixes sounding muddy... :(
