Hey guys!
So, I saw a post here back on Friday about Algorave. I can't for the life of me find it, since I didn't comment on it, and i don't wanna dig through since I don't remember the name.
Being a programmer by trade, I decided to dig deeper, and holy shit. This is awesome.
The things I love about it is that it is literally just a different workflow, and that's it. It uses a sampler, just like your DAW, and you can add effects, just like a DAW, it's just using code instead of using a GUI.
Anything you can create in a daw, you can create with this if you try hard enough. You can even record your own synth loops in a DAW then load the sample in and use them.
I just wanted to make this post to a.) Get more awareness for this awesome form of music making, since I think it is an amazing thing, especially for the more experimental makers among you, and b.) offer some answers if to those that have questions and would love to give this a shot, because I know it can be daunting at first. Let me tell you that you can learn to do this, even if you know nothing about code. As long as you are familiar with what general music terms like gain or cutoff mean, I could teach you how the syntax works in a day.
I'm going to leave you with a video of my favorite live coder, Mike Hodnick. Thank you guys for reading.
