I have been producing for 5 years and have recently bought my first million dollar house. I am only 23. When I first came to this sub-reddit there were a lot of negative people trying to put me down in a community that was meant to encourage like-minded individuals. I want to tell anyone who is struggling to ignore those bad apples. They will most likely not succeed and the reason they are so negative is because they know this. What I did was ONLY take in the actual feedback and always stayed positive. I found success by not wasting my time with other people and other hobbies. If you truly want to be successful, don't look at music as a hobby(like video games) where you work on music for 1 hour then play video games for 6 hours. That's not how it works. Music has to be the number one passion in your life. Put all your effort, time, and mind into it, but it has to be something you absolutely 100% love because you will have to sacrifice a lot. I had to sacrifice friendships, relationships, and a lot more. Success is not given to you it is earned. I am now looking for what's next and what's bigger. I am always improving and always trying new things. If you have that mentality from the start then you will get better over time and after hours and hours of practice. To some of us it comes naturally. To others it may take 10, 15, or 20 years to perfect your craft. Just remember, the more time you put into it, the better you'll get. If you are not willing to sacrifice the real important things in your life for your dream then this is just a hobby. Success is an arms length away. You just have to put in the effort to reach and grab it and not let it go at all costs. JUST DO IT!
