Ay what is up party people! Let me just start by saying that this subreddit has been infinitely helpful in pulling me out of my creative rut and I thank you all so much for all of your insight and input! I have found a way to get ideas down now that I am really comfortable with. Essentially, I think of a tone or mood ( I always make sad ass shit, guess I feel that way lol ) and a key I want to make, google it, and play progressions live on the piano and just hit record. I am having so much fun writing music this way. I still am not ALWAYS seeing ideas through to the end, but I also DONT feel pressured to do so. However, with that being said, I am finding my niche (for lack of a better term) and since I don't necessarily listen to any ONE genre, I think it would be highly beneficial to work with another producer. Not just swapping project files ( I use both Ableton and FL ) but actually using real communication and swapping ideas back and forth, whether through text or (preferrably) video calling. If anybody is interested, hit me up! I think that bedroom producers are plagued by being restricted into their mindsets and creative processes and two minds work better than one. You don't need to be the next Skrillex or Skrux (I actually knew Skrux on a personal basis before he blew up, swear to god) you just need to bring your ideas! EDIT: Just looked at the collaboration thread. Some info about me that may help your decision: Intermediate level producer (2.5 years dedicated experience)//// Good knowledge of basic and intermediate music theory, and excellent pitch//// Eastern Time Zone, with availability usually from 5-10 EST M-F and available anytime on weekends//// Eclectic musical variety, but mostly traditional melodic based music. /// 21 years of age//// Looking to work on projects of any style, either to learn new techniques or share my own
