I am 21 years old and for years I have wanted to play an instrument. Because I had many other extracurricular activities I just didn't have time for it. I don't know much about music to be honest. However, I have read a few books about music theory.
This is not a "I saw someone do X incredibly well" and now I want to do it too. I am aware that learning to play an instrument takes a lifetime.
I really enjoy the sound of the violin or the oboe. What course of action should I take? What are the price ranges of violins or oboes for beginners? Why would you recommend or not the oboe and/or the violin? Is there any book which might be useful?
If there is any other thing that I haven't asked about and you believe it is relevant, please tell me. Thank you!
