I made a track recently inspired by Noisia's 'Sinkhole' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sGYVErZEQQ
It somehow wasn't very good and I didn't know exactly why, so I posted it on various forums etc.
Most of the comments I got back were things that could have applied to the original 'needs more hi-hats' 'sounds empty'
I ended up making excuses saying 'it's supposed to be like that' but then that doesn't really help me improve.
This is a recurring problem I have with feedback- people criticize stuff I do deliberately when it's badly executed rather than being an inherently bad idea
Any advice?
