I'm doing everything Matt Watkin's does in this basic tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU6QTjRruWk
It's nothing more than Sylenth's initial saw preset with a few modifications to a lowpass filter and a couple of tweaks to the cutoff envelope, but my bass sounds like shite and there's no bouncey feeling to the groove at all.
While I'm not using that same exact kick, I am using a kick that has a long enough tail. I've gone a lot further than he does in the tutorial and tried sidechaining, and transient shaping, etc. but still cannot get that bouncy groove to my bassline.
Been spending hours to get it to sound right when it takes literally 2 minutes in this video it's super frustrating... thanks for help!
