So I'm trying to make modern dubstep/trap, the kind with all the change ups and I'm wondering if I'm trying to make it more complicated then it should be by trying to sound design every sound from a synth. Do most of these guys basically use samples for these sounds and just transpose them up and down? Like for a drop you may hear 3 or 4 different types of sounds that each one would require hours to make from scratch from Serum. I'm talking like about some of the stuff from Pegboard Nerds, Snails, etc.
