It's my understanding that PCI audio interfaces are basically internal soundcards usually used with desktops. Could I install one in my laptop, either replacing the stock soundcard or adding it as an additional card (assuming there was space)?
I'm asking because I would like to play audio from other applications (internet, itunes etc) while also using my DAW. I know I can just use two soundcards for this, so I was wondering if I could use a PCI soundcard with my laptop for mobility's sake (I am assuming hoping/that it would fit into an empty bay in my laptop).
Thanks!!
