hey!
so I ask this question because I love dance music and I love to produce it but the only thing that I really dislike about making dance tracks is that it seems to follow some kinds of rules to be playable for a dj. I'm talking about things like : drum loops intro/outro, oubvious build up/riser section, strict structure to follow like the drop has to be 30-45 sec, etc...
I understand why all those things exist in a dance track, meanwhile I feel it makes the music formulaic and so predictable. I read here and there that music has to be unique, and I totally agree. That's why when I make tracks that aren't following those rules, i think my music becomes more unique and creative.
what are your thoughts about this ? can we imagine a new unique dance music breaking the codes?
