So I've arranged a recording session at my place tomorrow for someone to come and record vocals they want to add to a beat. I've been producing for about 5 years, but I've not really recorded that much during this time. Does anybody have tips for how to proceed to come closer to success?
The microphone I'm using is a SE2200A, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface and a good laptop with FL Studio. Unfortunately, I only have a set of Beyerdynamics DT880's, which are semi-open, will this possibly ruin the takes?
PS: I don't expect Grammy-quality, I just want it to meet the clients expectations (which are relatively low)
