So I am working on rebranding myself and pushing true professional content and really attempt to get my music heard and out there. I have the song I want to release as my first track. Its future bassy but very mellow for the first three quarters of the song. I need advice on what to do and how to release it. I have been making music for 7 years and I have no idea how to share it or get it heard. Any feedback on the song and any advice on what steps i should take to grow my soundcloud page and to get my music heard would be beyond greatly appreciated.
This isn't a fish for listens on my song, it has not been made public and its only a private link im sharing. If i could get your thoughts on it or if you know any labels that I could send it to, any advice on promoting myself, or honestly anything, would be so awesome.
Thanks guys for listening and here is the private link to the song. https://soundcloud.com/plumapluma/you/s-gOBTa
BACKSTORY: (You can skip this part if you want, its just an explanation of my journey of producing so far.) I have been working on music for 7 years. When i was in 7th grade this kid showed me an Excision song. It was the first dubstep song i heard and I was hooked. After diving hard into dubstep and the rest of EDM i thought to myself what everyone else who knows nothing about EDM thought, "This has to be so easy to make."
I googled 'how to make dubstep', I ended up finding audiotool.com which is such a cool website. Completely free and on the cloud i started learning how to produce my own music. My music was awful and I just used pre made samples. I had almost no musical training at all except for the fact that i took guitar lessons for maybe a month before I quit. I fell in love with producing though and I saved up and bought FL Studio which i have been using for 5 years now. My name was Plumdog, coming from my last name Plummer. In the beginning I felt like i was growing fast, I got 200 followers (not much but it felt like a lot) and i won a remix competition for a tiny tiny record label and my song was released on itunes and spotify. That was 4 years ago and nothing has happened since.
My production has improved so much since then, I am incredibly passionate about it and after confiding in a friend who has been experiencing a good amount of growth and playing shows recommended that I rebranded myself. I have been working on an album to push under my new name Pluma (pronounced like Puma with an 'L').
