So I have some violin chords going in my track, mostly 4 note chords. My idea was to keep the top and bottom notes in the centre because they are obviously the most notable in a chord right?
Then pan the second to top note say 20R and the second to bottom note say 20L.
What do you think of this panning strategy? How do you pan your synth/pad/violin chords?
Secondly how do you handle velocities on your chords? Do you do every note the same velocity? Or perhaps top notes higher velocity? Or maybe you have a higher velocity on the first and last chord in a progression? etc.
Of course I know it's trial and error a lot of the time to get what sounds good, but curious what others are doing when it comes to these 2 things.
