Which surprised me. I've spent the past couple months learning synthesis with serum. I know all of it's parameters and I know how it works, and how to make some really basic patches. So out of curiosity I took a look at some synths in FL studio.. I usually use ableton but I like FL's synths more, much nicer layout. And I didn't know what I was looking at. Parameters I've never seen before and I didn't know what I'm used to doing. Like sending an lfo to a certain parameters or modulating an oscillator with another. Just a bunch of weird jargon.
Do different synths just have completely different parameters and I have to relearn? There's a couple of things I recognized. But there's no visual aspect. In serum if I send an lfo to the cutoff on a filter, i can see the filter and how it moves. In say, FL's sytrus, I have a lot of trouble doing that because i can't see it. I'm also a very visual person and a visual learning, so it just confused by brain.
Does each synth just require complete relearning? Or is it just me lacking in knowledge? Or is serum that different from other synths?
