Obviously the thing to do would be sit down and study music theory, but I'm wondering if there are any "shortcuts" to drawing in chords.
When I watch guys like deadmau5, or even random producers on YouTube, they just draw them in so fast, without having to take time and think "ok I need to put the second note 3 up from the first, then the third note another four up from there", and stuff like that.
Is there any kind of trick to just looking at the piano roll and being able to put notes in the right spot to make certain vibes?
