I run into this problem a lot:
-
Select a section to copy it somewhere else
-
Hit copy, hit paste, and it's right on top of what I copied
-
Don't realize I already hit paste, and hit paste again
-
Drag the 2nd copy over to where I wanted it
Now the first section is completely 'doubled up' and sounds terrible, but in a subtle way that I don't always notice right away
I have been better about being careful, but trying to be quick in order to get my thoughts out leaves me dealing with this problem a lot
I usually end up right clicking every pattern on the playlist alternating that with Undo if there was nothing underneath it, which is incredibly tedious
I'd prefer FL Studio just didn't let me paste over top of other clips. There is no reason I'd ever want to. In the edge case where I might want to double up clips, I can just put them on another track
Anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it?
