ok, so here's what's up. im a pretty new producer (coming close to a year since I've been at it now) and i don't have any equipment. no speakers, no midi keyboard, no nothing. only my laptop. so the dilemma is when i produce with apple ear phones in my song sounds a lot fuller, and overall nicer. however, when i take them out the song kind of sounds weird and different, and things sound more 2D instead of 3D if that makes sense. definitely not as good. now ive been told here before not to trust laptop speakers for mixing, and that pretty much anything is better than laptop speakers, which is why I'm using earphones. but then when i listen to someone else's music (a real producer with good speakers), his music sounds amazing, and so FULL on my crappy laptop speakers (and even better with headphones in!). i dont know if this is a stupid question, but it's really something thats hard for me to understand. i get that he is much better than i am, and i don't even have half his skill, but the music really sounds so much different that it boggles my mind. im assuming it's because he has great speakers, which means he can produce much more precise than i can, as well as clean up his mix better than me, therefor on low quality speakers the sound is still great because he cleans up every little crack and such in his mix. but im really confused, so help is much appreciated! cheers
