Hey, so I've been producing with Logic for about a 2 years when I first got my mac. Switched to Ableton at one point because i thought it could handle the cpu load better on my mac. I was very wrong. Back on Logic Pro X now after I got used to the simplicity that Ableton provides with it's drum rack and I'm on the search for something as simple. Going into ultrabeat and initializing each piano roll key and then looking through my computer for the right sample is pretty tedious in comparison and I also really miss the feature that you could choose which sounds would mute or dampen other sounds (when you want an open hi-hat to mute when the closed hi hat comes back in). What are your guys favorite/easy techniques for producing percussive midi clips rather than just dragging raw samples into your playlist? For some reason I've always found it easier to create drum patterns with midi in a piano roll, and Ableton just made that so simple.
