I'm a bit of a production noob as I have just started about a year ago from scratch. I recently released a track that sounds great with headphones and stereo speakers...but when I play it off my Samsung phone, it sounds horrible. I know it can't be my phone because I hear other music on it, and it sounds great.
I use Ableton Live 9 to produce my track. I also do some pretty basic mixing and mastering. I cut out lows in high sounds and vice versa. I also use a glue compressor to stabilize the sound. Lastly, I use a limiter to bring the sound up to about -3dB.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but is there any insight as to what I could be doing wrong? Thanks!
