Hi, I'm trying to self-learning and want to buy a keyboard for learning how to play a piano. After researching online for nearly a week, I've come to the conclusion that because of my tight budget, I can never afford a keyboard with 88 keys, touch sensitivity, full size key, weighted keys, and sustain pedal. Now, I found some models that are closer to my budget(below $200), which are: Casio CTX-700, CT-S300, CTK-3500, and a Yamaha-NP12.
So, firstly, I need some advice on choosing between these few models.
Secondly, depending on my case, please correct me if I'm wrong, the most important functions and specs a keyboard should have is in this order below:
- At least 61 keys.
- Able to connect with a sustain pedal.
- Has Touch sensitivity.
- Full size keys (meaning the size of the key is big as the size of a key on a real piano, unlike normal standard size key of a keyboard which is small).
- Weighted keys.
I know weighted key is a very important feature but because of my budget right now, I think I can't afford one unless someone can suggest a model that has weighted key but cheap.
Thirdly, I really welcome any more suggestions to other models which are more cheaper but enough for my needs. I just want to be able to play English pop songs, anime music and etc. My target is to have a keyboard as similar to a piano as possible so that I won't be able to just play on a keyboard but also a real piano(when one is accessible).
Lastly, I also notice most of the keyboards has a lot of different instruments and sound feature and all that, but I don't think I'll ever need them since I just want to learn how to play on a real piano with a cheaper and more portable alternative. And I felt that these "useless" functions(for me personally) are the reason why the keyboards are all so expensive, anyone knows any models that only focus on replicating a real piano? Because that's actually what I only need, I feel like if I buy those expensive keyboards, I'll feel that I'm paying all those money for the features I'm really unlikely going to use.
Really appreciate it if anyone can give me some help.
