So I have always loved music, I know basically everyone does but for me I just feel so passionate about it. It’s one of the main things that I care about in this life. I’ve mostly just been a listener but I did play piano up until I was twelve years old. I’m 20 now and I really feel like this is something I want to start doing, my family members think it’s too late for me though. So here are my questions:
-
Is 20 too late to start learning how to create music?
-
At what point will I know if I have any talent and if I have the potential to be good at making music would there already be signs?
-
Where is a good place to start when you aren’t sure what genre you want your music to be? I’m thinking either indie, electronic or a mix of the two (my inspirations are tame impala, air, flume and daft punk). So I’m not really sure if my focus should be on learning physical instruments, electronic music or if I should be just focusing on learning music theory.
