I'm learning to play the guitar and a friend has loaned me an old digital piano saying I might find it useful, and I'm loving it. I've only had it a day and already I'm finding it really helpful to visualise scales and keys and intervals.
I'm wondering if any experienced guitarists (or any musicians) here would recommend me continuing with learning the piano alongside my guitar? If so, do you have any recommendations for features I'll find myself wanting in a keyboard down the road? Would a keyboard be as useful as a digital piano? Will I miss the range if I get a smaller one than the full-sized 88 key one I'm borrowing at the moment? Will a cheap keyboard do me just as well, given that my focus is going to be the guitar? Do I need MIDI? Will things like weighted keys be a big benefit or not? Thanks for any suggestions!
