I've been casually using FL studio like forever but recently started to really dig a bit deeper in the program and in music production in general.
The next step in my learning process is drums and percussions. I've got a demo version of Geist2 (you know, try before buy) but can't get my head around it and unlike most other instruments, there doesn't seem to be any decent course/tutorial.
I'm not even sure Geist 2 is really worth it.
What's the best drum loop tools out there? I rather have a performant tool than an easy tool, but a good balance between the 2 is always nice. :)
I've seen a guy handling percussion loops I believe on a Mac (which probably is Logic then) and he was able to select 2 beats in an 8 or 16 beat sample or so, quickly create a loop of those 2 beats and he could make that fit in his playlist quite easily.
He could also quickly change where the loop starts in the sample (1st beat, 2nd beat, downbeat, upbeat or anywhere in between) which is really interesting. He instantly got feedback of how it sounds in his mix.
I tried SliceX in FL Studio but that doesn't seem to handle all of this.
Can this be done with Geist2? Any good tutorial?
If not, what's the best VST to do this kind of work?
