So as I understand it with Tremolo we automate the volume of a channel up and down creating a vibrating effect. The entire frequency spectrum is effected evenly as it is the volume that is being automated.
With LFO controlled frequency filter we can also produce a vibrating effect, but then the whole frequency spectrum is not affected evenly at the same time, but instead we gradually cut out and then reintroduce frequencies as the LFO peaks and dips.
Is that correct?
Which of these 2 techniques do you prefer for electronic production?
What about applying BOTH at the same time? Do you ever do that and any tips on how to apply it?
Also any general discussion or advice on Tremolo as well LFO controlled frequency filters welcome. I'm experimenting with automating the LFO rate and amount as well as the tremolo rate and amount. It seems to add a lot of interest to a track and is another thing to spice it up and make chord progressions more interesting.
