This is a throwaway because I'd rather not talk about what isn't final.
Basically, I had a song get a ton of attention and got an offer from a well known record company. The song is actually outside of the genre I normally produce. I'm wondering how I can use this opportunity to grow in the long term. Are labels more likely to accept demos from artists they have already signed for a hit?
Also would it be possible to jump the gap between genres? Or am I likely to see a fall off if I don't release something in the same genre as the hit. The main reason I ask is that I am far less passionate about the genre of the hit. Thanks in advance for any advice.
