Been seeing alot of posts here on writers block lately and wanted to share a tip "technique" i use to combat it .
Perfection is single handedly the biggest issue with writers block IMO. Think about it with this bizzare scenario .
Youre on a diving board and you have this idea in your head that a perfect dive is one that makes absolutely no splash , youre going to dive very little because youre now more conscious of how to try and dive without making a splash and not getting better and better at diving knowing you can get close to not making a splash if you do it many times .
I know it was a weird analogy but maybe i got my message across. Dont get worked up on something not being good , get excited and positive that youve created something and know that you can create it again slightly better and better etc .
What i do is , in fl studio if im writing music i start with just a piano and write and leave it . Make a loop, melody etc and leave it ( never delete) then move on to a new one at the end you will be able to see your progress which will hopefully motivate you .
