In the song Zedd - Beautiful Now (Grey Remix) the vocoder is so clean. Grey was working with a vocal that was already recorded in a completely different key, with big pitch jumps, and then managed to preserve the natural formants of Jon Bellion's voice and remove the artifacts that are caused by the pitch jumps in the original. Then, they go on to do a exponential sweep down sort of thing to extend the "a" vowel in the word now. On top of that, they must have done something with the eq before or after the vocoder that prevents it from getting too muddy, but I can't work it out
Here is my attempt at somewhat replicating it, but I just cant get it down. Any ideas?
