Hello! I've been having some trouble trying to recreate this sound at about 28 seconds into "Nepenthe" by Seven Lions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsmDSSB9b50&feature=youtu.be&t=28s
To my ears, the sound is very similar to one used in a completely different way (with some heavy pitch modulation) in Gammer's "Pigface" at 1m 42s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WdfLiRw-nk&feature=youtu.be&t=102
My guess is the main character of the sound comes from filtering (bandpass?) and some specific type of distortion, perhaps with the reverb before the distortion in the FX chain. I'm not having a lot of success myself though. Rate reduction produced some qualities that reminded me of the sound, but it was still very far off. Any help would be appreciated. TIA! :)
