So I have had my set up for 2+ years and everything was fine until this week.
I have a macbook pro which only has 2 usb ports, so I had a usb hub with 10 ports. I have my midi piano, scarlet focusrite, ilok, mixing controller, and extra keyboard all hooked up to it.
My surge protector powers all of these plus my yamaha monitors. boom great for two years.
Well this past week I turned my monitors on and nothing... I plug my scarlet directly into my computer and it works fine, but when it was going through the usb splitter it would just make a weird low popping noise.
So I bought a new usb hub... same thing. Then the hub also just dies. So I bought a different brand... boom same thing. Plus this new one smelled like burning plastic.
Idk how I could be over heating or something since it was perfectly fine for so long. I barely have anything powered going on.
Any thoughts?? Could you show me how you guys have everything connected/routed???
So frustrating aghh
