Of course this isn't always the case, but a lot of songs just use simple triads. I was wondering if there was a reason for this musically (like dissonant chords might detract from the sound design or something else weird). Or has this just become part of the typical sound of EDM, like rock, where the genre was born from people that weren't classically trained and the sound just kind of stuck.
