Hello.
I’ve been producing electronic music for about 5 years now. I’ve followed this vicious cycle of making songs I like and then thinking they aren’t good enough and never doing anything with them. I recently have been working on a song and had my friends give me input. Everything I’ve heard has been positive back. I like the song but I’m not sure it’s ready for release. I don’t exactly know how to tell the difference between being tired of hearing the same thing over and over after hours of work, or the song just genuinely not being ready. A sidenote is I always feel like I have to nail my niche on the first try. I always try to listen to porters old EDM stuff and Illeniums first EP to remind myself how far even accomplished producers can change but I always find myself doubting my ability. Any advice on releasing music and finding a niche?
Thank you!
