I have recently been making what I find to be, much better mixdowns than my previous ones ever. However when I master them and add MB compression and a glue compressor I expect to see a much more fat and tamed waveform. Yet I throw it on SoundCloud and compare it to other tracks released on the Confession Label and even when they only have an intro beat playing, their waveform is still fat? If I compress anymore in the mastering stage than I already have, it will become over compressed. I have -6 dB of headroom too so I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong in the mastering stage. It must be mixdown related.
