I've recently come to the realization that I need hands on stuff to make music. So I mapped a nanokontrol2 to my synth and instantly had more creativity and freedom. I wasn't trying to figure out what to automate or how long to do it, I just tweaked until it sounded good to me. Plus macros make it so much easier to keep the whole writing process organic and flowing.
It got me thinking. You know how people have preferred learning styles? I'm wondering if the same can be applied to music production. If some people actually prefer all the visual stuff and plotting things out strategically vs the more kinesthetic who like to do things by intuition and feel. Makes me wonder if some people struggle sometimes because their workflow in incompatible. Dunno, just some thoughts.
