I am a producer and I am wondering about prevent hearing damage and tinnitus both in the short-term (one session) and long-term.
I have looked up sites that state a certain dB level not to pass for a certain amount of time, but I can't find any professional guidelines that are specifically for music producers/audio engineers. Most are occupational health & safety and related sites talking about short term exposure.
I love to make bangers but there are times when I get tinnitus and it is a concern to me / really annoying. Assuming that a full-time audio engineer is working 8 hours a day 5 times a week, M-F, what is the ideal level they should be working at and for how long, in order to minimize tinnitus or hearing damage?
