So I'm super comfortable with in the box stuff, but I'm trying to incorporate hardware. Having issues. Not sure if this is the correct sub, please correct me if there's a better place. I have an m-audio mobile pre interface, being fed by a mackie mix8 mixer. I want to record various synths, mostly a mam 303 clone and a microbrute, but recording levels with the mix8 just below clipping are at -35 db, with lots of line noise. I would like to get a combined mixer/interface, i suspect that could help, but i can't seem to figure out why the levels are so low with the current set up. Any advice would be appreciated.
