Hi, i'm not too much of a regular to this subreddit (and kinda new to production), I do have a browse every now and then so forgive me if I say something dumb or whatever. Basically, since about December I've really decided that making electronic music is what I want to do. It started off with wanting to make stuff like Skrillex or Getter, but upon discovering Noisia's 'Outer Edges' album, I basically don't feel like I want to make anything else. I know it's seriously ambitious as they're considered gods of sound design and everything, but I'm just trying to get down that path and having a bit of trouble. I've been using various material like online tutorials for sound design and even invested in the Deadmau5 masterclass, but I still don't feel like I can make any sounds or anything that I'm really happy with. I work a 9-5 and spend silly amounts of time getting to and from work, so don't have loads of time to scour the internet for what I think I may need. So I thought I'd come to the subreddit to ask for help on getting on the path to actually making something. Obviously nothing Noisia level, but if anyone knows any material that would be beneficial for getting down that path I'd greatly appreciate it. My mindset is that I'm in this for the long run, so it's frustrating when I can't make any kinda sounds that I'd imagine in my head. I use Serum, and I've managed to make some interesting stuff using FM modulation and automation, but would appreciate any further reading materials or anything. Thanks for any help and sorry if I've put this badly or this is the wrong kinda thing to ask for. tl;dr: production noob looking for material on how to get down the Noisia/Mefjus/Upbeats kinda sound design path
