I am trying to create this thin, zipping bass sound that I've heard in a few places like:

The closest that I can get is just a simple saw wave with some glide, and a bandpass filter. It is possible that this is pretty much all there is, give or take a few extra effects, but I just wanted to check here to see if anyone had additional advice. My version just doesn't sound as 'crunchy' or 'zippy'.
