When I started learning synthesis, I had no choice but to use 808 samples for my subs. Then when I got serum and massive, I learned to create sub hits and long lines (poorly). I've switched back and forth from hating 808 samples and wanting synthesized bass to using 808 samples when they fit and LOVING them.
I'm really proud of myself for getting good at bass synthesis, but has anyone else found a happy medium between making your own bass and using 808 samples? This is one of my tunes with 808 samples: https://soundcloud.com/tracersedm/cellophane And here's a second song with my own synthesized bass. https://soundcloud.com/tracersedm/what-u-doin
Idk.
