I apologize in advance for the rant but I'm looking for some guidance, and I'm not attacking anyone in particular and with them well.
BUT, where are all these talented producers coming from?
Their tracks sound great, and musically they're also really great, like really interesting and emotionally engaging, non formulaic tracks, even if it's in a particular genre like, say, trance.
Yet they've got no prior musical background and a pretty limited amount of experience when it comes to making music and producing.
Can anyone relate to what I'm talking about? It's like they dive straight in and just end up producing gorgeous tracks that not only have artistic merit but technical merit too.
And on top of that, everyone seems loves their stuff! It's not fake promo either, because you can watch how people actually follow them.
It just kinda pisses me off man, they're getting lucky! Or something.
I suppose ghost producing could be a thing, but I've found that to be rarely the case because one on one they seem to know their shit!
I just wonder if there's really a natural talent to it that I don't have, regardless of how many hours I put in and how many years I spent in school and on the road with music!
Yes, I'm jealous lol. More frustrated to be honest.
So tell me, is it luck or what? Are they just in the top statistic of people who are lucky enough to be making the good tracks.
If so, that sucks because it should be me! lol
You know what I mean? I'm not having a go at anyone, just need to vent and collect some thoughts.
It sucks that I try so hard and constantly learn and develop, when these guys just get it straight away. I might as well throw all my music theory in the bin :D
Thoughts?
