Hey guys, lurk hard on this thread daily. Have some questions about an audio interface set up I would like to add. Currently, I use Abelton on my Macbook Pro mid 2014 (i7 2.5ghz, Nvidia GTX750M, 16GB DDR3, 500GB SSD) with a pair of JBL 5 inch monitors. Currently, just using a balanced xlr to aux set up straight into my mac. I produce mostly future bass and dubstep, and when I run a lot of voices on multiple instances of serum, I get some lovely crackling. CPU and memory in my machine has never been a problem, but cpu spikes hard in ableton along with that crackling. I am not too knowledgeable on audio interfaces and want to ensure this will help rid of the crackling. so my questions are: -Will an interface help rid of the crackling? -Recommendations for an interface that wont break the bank, doesn't need to be very complex, only will be plugging my monitors or headphones into it. -What kind of xlr cable should I be using with the interface.
