Hey all, so i was wondering about the Kick and bass relationship in EDM, for genres such as house or Trance.
You usually have a huge sidechained bass and kick that occupies the same frequency ranges and in most tracks i listen to, it doesn't seem like the bass is high pass filtered.
Do you guys always just rely on sidechain for that purpose, or do you EQ the bass low end a bit too (maybe 40-50hz high pass) ? Because i feel like 99% of Trance/house sidechained basses have all the sub frequencies untouched (or pretty much untouched) so i'm curious about how you do.
