Hey,
I've recently been killing myself over trying to cleanly recreate the main saw in Mura Masa's track, "What If I Go" using only native Ableton Plugins. In theory it should be so simple, but I just can't quite seem to nail it.
It sounds to me like he is using Operator as a subtractive synth, with two slightly detuned oscillators with either a Saw 8 or Saw D waveform and a noise oscillator. Then on top of that a filter envelope with low resonance, some stereo delay to make it wider, and then I'm thinking the post processing has an overdrive, some light saturation on the highs, compression and eq. The sub is easy, just a separate track with a saturated sin wave.
Despite all this, I can't seem to really get it exactly to where he does. Any tips on how I may be able to get closer? I can toss over the patches I've made if anyone wants to work on them. Thanks!
