Okay so let me lay this out. I've been a musician for a year(ish) now, but now I essentially need to relearn how to play and make music, let me tell you why.
So for the past year, I've been playing guitar and I love it. I get complete satisfaction out of playing it and I'm honestly really passionate about it. The problem lies here though: for my entire time playing guitar, I've only read tablature as opposed to actual sheet music.
So my junior year of high school has now started, and I figured that because I play guitar, I'll try and do what I love and get a grade for it. Thus I joined the school band. Well little did I know, my city's musical curriculum something or other doesn't allow for guitar as a primary instrument (or piano, violen, any string instrument really). I would've switched out of the class on the second day, but I'm not one for giving up when things get hard, and I love making music so I was sorta cool with it. So now I'm playing flute (yay!). Only issue is that I can't read sheet music to save my life. In retrospect I should've learned to read sheet music while playing guitar, but here I am.
So I come to this sub asking for help. Is there anywhere at all that I can learn to either read sheet music and learn it fast, or a place where I can learn to play flute fast that isn't YouTube? My mom is already looking into flute lessons and I'll have my guitar instructor help me to start reading sheet music on guitar, but any extra resources would be immensely appreciated.
