I am not advocating piracy in the post, in fact quite the opposite
So I'll be upfront, I've been pirating everything I use to make music since I started. I've accumulated a lot of plugins over the years, but now that I have a stable income sort of I'm trying to start buying my software.
My question for those of you who have done the same, especially Ableton users, is the stability better? I'm on a 2011 macbook pro, and I've been getting pretty crazy CPU spikes, even when I'm not using any plugins. Its happened to me for so long now (years) that I've given up trying to fix it, sometimes Live won't even play 30 audio tracks with no effects without glitching. I've pretty much come to the conclusion it's either my computer or my pirated software, but I've maxed out all my ram, upgraded to ssd, and put an hdd in the optical drive so I'm pretty much out of options for the comp.
Anyways, if anyone has insight on this I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm buying my software either way, simply because I want the legitimacy of owning it as well as supporting the developers. But I am just curious if this is a common problem, because I have a feeling it is.
I read the rules and I believe this is ok to post, ("Discussion of piracy is fine; advocating, asking for, or giving advice on how to pirate is not.")if it's not then i apologize oh great mods.
