TL;DR focused in Live Looping or Push/Launchpad Note Mode Music Theory
Hi all,
My name is Jake. I am a newly out of work bass player/live looper in New Orleans interested in teaching the Ableton skills that I have learned. I have been around Ableton since 2010 but really did not dive deep until the past year when I began live looping. I have a bunch of teaching experience and I feel like now is a great time to start sharing my knowledge. These lessons will be laser focused in one of two areas of Ableton: Live Looping, and/or Music Theory Related to the Push 2.
I am currently gigging a solo live loop project and I have a bachelor's degree in music studies. These days the degree doesn't always mean that much but theory was always my strongest subject. Live Looping and Theory will be my only focus for lessons. If you are looking for someone to help you produce your next beat, to help you mix your vocals, or to build beautiful soundscapes, you got the wrong guy. I am the live looping guy who can solo on the Push 2 better than on his bass.
I am 100% down to do virtual lessons on a “pay what you can” basis. I am about sharing knowledge and now is a great time to do so. I have no problems at all teaching for free. That being said, I have zero income right now and any little bit would help.
Lesson Plans.
Live Looping (Session Looping, Ableton Only) -Using fixed length clips -Automating record in and out via IAC driver (mac only) -Live Looping with Push 2 -Using Push 2 with Note Mode to build loops. -Ableton stock Vocoder -Finger Drumming
Push 2 Chromatic Mode Theory -Push meets Theory 101 --Using numbers instead of note names to build Push specific theory knowledge -Using the Right Scales -Building Chords -Creating Melodies with Chord Changes
-Improvisation/Solo
Who Would Benefit?
Live Looping -People with experience on an instrument or Push 2 as an instrument -Vocalists -Beat Boxers -Finger Drummers -DJs (what a thought!!)
Push 2 Chromatic Mode Theory (Push 2 or equivalent required) -New Push Users -Anyone looking for more theory knowledge ——-no prior experience needed -Anyone looking to —write melodies with Push —play chords with Push —solo with push
