Hi, hope everyone is okay over these difficult times.
Here’s a new video, hopefully listening to some acoustic guitar noodling can help spending some time now that we’re all at home.
The noodling is played using the Open D tuning, which is one of the best sounding tunings to me.
I briefly go over how to tune the guitar in Open D, how you can play the D major scale with it and create easy melodies and then I show all the essential (and easy) chord positions you need to play some noodling with beautiful chords - fingerpicking.
Lastly, I show how the natural harmonics sound in this tuning and how you can play cool and deep power chords if you’re into more rock sounds.
Here is the full video with the shapes and the melodies: https://youtu.be/FXSM1EuLdLs
Hope this introduction to the Open D tuning helps and inspires you to pick up the guitar and practice some noodling.
Stay home and stay safe everyone.
