I'm in an embarrassing situation where even some of the more intermediate exercises in Method of Movement look daunting and unreadable to me. I used to be able to read better than I do now, but now, I want to get past the point of having to squint at every note on the page to learn what to play. I'm looking for very basic stuff that teaches me how to get past using "Every Good Boy Does Fine" and "FACE" for every single individual note on the page.
What books/exercises/practice regimen would one recommend to someone in my situation? I want to learn to read music better and at least be able to play my way partially through MOM before I go about looking for a teacher for lessons.
