Hello reddit musicians! I recently move in a different city, in a different country and I'm gonna work closely with some new people. Those 4 guys have an office and I'm gonna work with them from now until October (at least, most likely it will be longer).
It happened that one of the guy recently move all his music equipment in the office, so basically 5 meters from my desk I have a bass guitar, a classic guitar, an electric guitar and an electric drum set. With amp and everything.
Now, I don't know a lot about music (just some basic theory, I know what a note is, what a scale is...that kind of stuff), but I can see a good chance to learn something, being that close to my desk I can literally work for 1 hour, play something 15/20 minutes, go back to work, and repeat until the end of the day.
My goal is to play a little bit of everything. I'm 30, I'm not gonna be the new Mozart, and I don't want to play something perfectly. I would prefer much more knowing some of everything, allowing me to play alongside with others some songs, simple jam sessions and rotating instruments. I wanna have fun!
Here's the question: what's the best way to approach this opportunity? Focusing on one instrument? Learning the basics of all of them? There are some courses or resources (even paid one) that I can use to speed up this process?
Thanks a lot!
