I’ve been playing the guitar semi seriously for years, but I’m way behind where I should be. I think a lot of this is because I’ve focused on learning exercises and riffs and very rarely play along to songs. A lot of this is mostly because of my taste. I listen to a lot of music that is far above my level, think math rock, post rock etc.
So I don’t know many songs that I’m physically capable of learning. I don’t really follow pop music beyond what I hear on the radio in passing and I never really got into classic rock or things like that and I find learning songs I don’t really know/like too boring to find the motivation to practice. Is there a recommended list somewhere of useful songs by level?
